How do I register?

Registering a new account is free and takes only a few minutes. Please note that all compulsory fields must be completed in order to register successfully. You will need to provide the required information when registering. Please note that the Username and Password fields are case sensitive.

Once you have entered the information correctly, click “Sign Up” and you will be able to log in to SMSPortal and test our products and services.

How do I login?

I have completed the registration process. What's next?

To claim your 100 free credits, please do the following:

  1. Visit
  2. Login with your Username and Password
  3. Once you have logged in, you will be able to test our services and send single and bulk SMSes with your free test credits.

How much does an SMS cost?

From 18c per SMSSMS - Short Message Service that allows the exchange of short text messages (maximum 160 characters for one message) between phone, web or mobile communication systems.. Please view our pricing page for accurate costs. If you buy in bulk you pay less!

Are there any other costs involved in sending SMSes?

SMSPortal operates on a pre-paid basis and there are no setup fees, monthly fees or any other additional fees. The credits that you buy will only expire after 12 months from the purchase date. Users do not pay for replies.

Our company is based in South Africa and therefore only South Africans will be charged VAT (Value Added Tax).

How do I buy credits?

We work on a pre-paid basis. You can purchase credits online via Credit/Debit Card or Instant Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). All invoices must be generated online.

How long does it take the platform to deliver SMS messages?

Messages are delivered within approximately 15 seconds. Each SMSPortal user is able to send out 5 million SMSes per hour through our gateway.

Do you provide status reports for the undelivered messages?

All messages will show a status report, whether successfully delivered or not.

To view the delivery status, you can do one of the following:

  • Go to “Date Range Report” in the administration area, where you can generate a line item report or a summary report
  • Go to “Number Lookup Report” in the administration area, where you can generate a report on single numbers only (number needs to be entered in its international format, e.g. 27821234567)

Do you support replies to SMSes?

Yes, recipients of messages that you send via our system can reply to your messages. The reply messages will be delivered to your replies inbox in your account. Replies can also be forwarded to an email address, at no cost, or to a cell number if preferred, which will cost 1 SMS credit.

Do you have a BEE certificate?

Yes, this is available on our website.

Do my purchased credits expire?

Yes, credits will expire 12 months after the purchase date.
