WASPA
General
The WASPA - Do Not Contact System became mandatory for all WASPA members at the Annual General Meeting held in Johannesburg on 5th March 2020.
This means that members sending direct marketing to numbers on this list are in breach of the following clause of the WASPA Code of Conduct:
"16.5. Unless the target person has expressly or implicitly requested or agreed otherwise, any member authorising, directing or conducting any direct marketing must not direct or permit any person associated with that activity to direct or deliver any communication for the purpose of direct marketing to:
(c) a person who has registered a pre-emptive block with a registry established by WASPA."
It was agreed that all members would be required to check the WASPA DNC list on at least a weekly basis.
How do I check the WASPA DNC?
As an SMSPortal customer, you are not required to check the WASPA DNC list whatsoever. SMSPortal have built an integration with WASPA that fully handles this process without any further onus on you.
Should you wish to add your number or check whether it is included in the DNC list yourself, please click here.
Where can I find more information about the DNC?
If you would like more details on SMSPortal's DNC system, please reach out to us on [email protected] - Please note that WASPA's system is fully integrated with our own and no further action is required from you on the premise that your messaging is flowing over our platform.
